With everything in a tiny home being in such a close proximity – moisture reduction is a key consideration when planning. This lower profile dome gives all the same benefits as its big brother – and is perfect for small shower enclosures. The 1000mm blank can be trimmed down to fit any shower cubicle 710mm or larger. Instead of the standard 150mm height at the apex of the dome, the low blow R650S is only blown to 100mm. Many property managers will comment that bathrooms in some tenanted properties do cause grief. When a Showerdome® shower top is fitted into a tenanted property shower the condensation on ceilings, walls and mirrors is eliminated. The dampness doesn’t invade the adjoining rooms and the paint work remains dry. The tenant doesn’t have to remember to open windows to ventilate and allow the area to dry out. Spec or group housing builder/developers have always shown a keen interest in Showerdome® shower tops. Initially the objection has been ‘what if the purchaser doesn’t want it’ which is a fair comment. It’s harder to take something out than it is to install it. It ensures that the builder has no call-backs to the property because of dampness in the bathroom. Yes, most new homes will have extraction units to deal with odour, but those units are not designed to deal with the amount of moisture created by the showers. This design style can mean no extraction at all due to the difficulties of cutting through an external wall membrane to run the vent outlet piping. Without a Showerdome® shower top fitted these small confined internal areas are going to deteriorate very quickly. They will typically be dark and then wet for long periods which is the ideal scenario for mould growth. For the health of those who dwell there a Showerdome® shower top should be mandatory (in our opinion). All standard model Showerdome® shower tops are blown to a height of 150mm. In high rise situations we have encountered shower cubicles that are raised up to accommodate the plumbing and waste water which then detracts from the space available above the shower frame to easily fit a Showerdome® shower top. Should this be a problem we could potentially do a ‘special’ production run of low blow Showerdomes. So before anyone decides that they will not fit – please call us to discuss all the options.
